Brigid's Sanctuary of Radiance

Written by Pookas Kreations

This building is the top of the Sunspire Arcology, it is their temple to Brigid, Goddess of Creativity and her mother Inanna, Goddess of Nature.

It was constructed inside a hollowed-out mountain peak, its exterior is camouflaged by various types of greenery and natural rock formations. The temple is a hidden gem, blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

Purpose / Function

This is a place of worship, fellowship, a garden, a shrine, a temple, etc. Some features are listed here:
  • Garden of Luminescence: a flourishing garden on the grounds of the temple shows their dedication to nature. Many plants are grown here including bioluminescent plants, it is a breathtaking spectacle at night.
  • Central Hearth: at the heart of the temple lies a central hearth with a continual flame in honor of the Goddess Brigid. It provides warmth and a focal point for communal gatherings.
  • Sunbathing Terrace: this is a mental health need for those that live continually underground, people are required to come here at least once a week to stay healthy. A spacious terrace extends from the temple, offering a panoramic view of the gardens. Halflings gather to bask in the life-giving sun to gain a sense of serenity.
  • Brigid's Shrine: a sacred shrine to Brigid and her mother Inanna. This temple has a shrine to each of the members of the pantheon, equally spaced around the larger temple of the Sunspire. Each is adorned with precious gemstones and intricate carvings to show their followers adoration and worship. These shrines are a place for reflection, meditation, and worship.
  • Community Hall: in the central open area is the communal meeting area where the community comes together for meetings, festivals, and celebrations.
  • Celestial Observatory: scaffolding is built along and around the ceiling so people can observe the stars and moons from the windows above.
  • Waterfall of Purity: from one side of the temple a natural spring descends from near the ceiling. It symbolizes purity and renewal. The water comes from one of the underground rivers, adding a peaceful soundtrack to the temple's atmosphere.
  • Hot Springs: they were found when building the temple on the southern side. Pools were dug and the water was channeled to fill them at need. These are used when purification is needed and also for relaxation and comfort.

Crops for the arcology are also grown here, that can't be grown elsewhere.
