The Cadences

Overview
The Cadences are the good-aligned deities involved in the creation of Apocrypha. From Avandra in Zangbe, to Moradin in Greyhal, a Cadence leads the pantheon in almost any given society (known as the pantheon's Herald). Though they may have their disagreements, they and their followers are willing to work together to protect the cosmos. Compassion is what unifies them, as they each want a universe that can grow and learn for the better.
Avantia, the Fortunous   "Leave a coin for the beggard at each shrine, Wayfarer, and Lady Luck will bring fortune beyond wealth."   Epithets: Dromandra. Lady Luck. The First Wayfarer. The Trailblazer. She of Riches.
Alignment: Chaotic Good.
Domains: Peace, Trickery.
Plane: None, Wanders the Cosmos.
Pronouns: She / Her.   Avandra is the Goddess of trade, travel, adventure, and luck. Many Halflings get their luck from her, as do merchants and Wayfarers. Rather than temples, her followers give offerings at small roadside shrines. Her commandments are few:
  • Fortune favours the bold. Take hold of your own destiny, and the Changebringer will reward you.
  • Advocate peace where possible, but fight for the freedoms of all if you must.
  • Strive to do good. Change is inevitable, but it is with kindness that change is for the better.
Her Avatar is a dark skinned Quarterling woman, with flowing hair that fades into a golden horizon.
Aspects include Tymora, Halfling Goddess of gambling and ambition, and Waukeen, the Goddess of trade.
Avandra has no known Exarchs, preferring instead to influence the luck of many mortals to bring about good.
Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon.   "Wield the gavel of judgement, acolyte, with the same degree of rigour afforded to the blade."   Epithets: B'hammut, Herald of Faith. BeXian. The Undaunted. Xymor, the Lustre Soul.
Alignment: Lawful Good.
Domains: Life, Order, War.
Plane: Mercuria, Mount Celestia.
Pronouns: He / Him.   Bahamut is the God of sanctuary, honour, and justice. Father to the first metallic Dragons, he seeks to protect the Dragonborn from Tiamat's clutches. Paladins, knights, and judges revere him and his principles. He espouses these virtues:
  • Honour and justice are paramount, so uphold them as best you can.
  • Oppose evil in all its forms, whether in court or in war.
  • Provide sanctuary for the marginalised, and break the chains of oppression.
His avatar is that of a male platinum Dragon with crystalline blue eyes, whose scales reflect an unearthly light.
Bahamut's Aspects are Torm, the God of courage and righteous fury, and Tyr, the Even-handed Judge.
Exarchs are the Metallic Greatwyrms, and his mortal incarnation - an Iron Dragonborn known as Dragonclaw.
Corellon, the Archeart.   "You've travelled far, Lochskald. Drink deep of Mie-Sun's inspiration. Paint words from our histories."   Epithets: Chorus of the Springward Faerie. First-Fey. Mie-Sun. Coronal of Arvandor. Progenitor of the Elves.

Artists, Bards, and those who view magic or combat as art worship them. She watches over the Sildur - those falling outside binary sex or gender. He asks that his followers act accordingly:
  • Bring beauty into the world and admire it, for artistry can be found in all things.
  • Take inspiration from nature, ancient works of art, and the arcane traditions of ages past.

  • Be stalwart in your beliefs, and overcome adversity wherever you face it.
  • Family and loyalty, whether by bond or by blood, are the finest of all creations.
  • Bring about a legacy that lasts. Improve the future for those born after you.

  • Tend to the sick and injured, and comfort those who are suffering.
  • Consider how best to be kind and compassionate in all that you do.
  • Provide the light of hope to all, so that you might ward away evil.
Pelor's Avatar is a suit of golden armour with a white cloak, and a burning sun where his head would be.
