Kahiladman

The Deeper Dark, the Personification of the Void, the Unfeeling, the Endless Howling at the Face of the Infinite Black, the Night.

Kahiladman, also known as the Deeper Dark, the Personification of The Void, the Unfeeling, the Endless Howling at the Face of the Infinite Black, and simply, the Night, is the Travesty representing the Void and nothingness. He is unique amongst the Travesties, as he is known to have existed before the God Severment altered reality, and is the only Travesty to also be seen as one of The Great Old Ones.   He is seen as a manifestation of The Far Realm amongst many major religions, and is often the chosen patron of Great Old One Warlocks. He also appears to hold some significance to Goblins, specifically the Cragclaws of Green Man's Rock although the exact connection is unclear.

Divine Domains

While Kahiladman's main domains are half-truths and lies, the void and the Infinite Black, he is also considered to oversee Frozen Wastes, Nothingness, Space and Beginnings.

Artifacts

While Kahiladman is an esoteric being, with very little evidence of him even existing, he does in fact have a few artifacts associated with him. The Sphere of Annihilation, for example, is said to be a severed remnant of Kahiladman himself, and is said to destroy any matter that passes through it, with the exception of extremely powerful magical items, although it is rumoured that if one passes through the Sphere, they become a part of Kahiladman himself. Related to the Sphere is the Talisman of the Sphere, an amulet that is said to be able to convert matter into antimatter. It was last seen in the possession of Esorin before he became K'Niff.   Many artifacts of the Great Old Ones were destroyed during the God Severment. However, the Sword of Answering lingers on, split into nine pieces, with each containing the essence of one of the long dead Great Old Ones. Replier is said to be the sword of Kahiladman, however, as Kahiladman has been encountered in more recent years, this theory is hard to verify.

Personal history

When the denizens of Apa Axas are asked to consider the “Gods of Darkness”, many will answer Gloom Mona, that Beacon who dwells in the shade of Apa Axas, or Vox, the Travesty of shadow who guides the weary to the Shadowfell. However, Gloom Mona’s darkness is tainted with the light of Love, and Vox’s domain are the shadows, which require light for the disparity. The Deepest Dark; where no light can even hope to penetrate even an iota of its infinite blackness, exists between the worlds, in the howling emptiness known as the Void. It is here that the Travesty known as Kahalidman makes its home.   Less is known about Kahalidman than any other Travesty. Even its sentience is contested, with some believing that the Deeper Dark is simply the Void itself, while others believe that, because of Kahalidman’s role in creating the Frost Giants with Zemer Epsh, as detailed in the popular novel series ‘The Trials of Burning Treachery’ by Lessidan Hallmaker, as well as its role in saving the deity Compassion and allowing her transformation into the Gloom Mona, that the Personifaction of the Void must be aware of his existence and possess some capability to act. Some scholars even believe that Kahalidman might be the last of the Great Old Ones, who were sealed away at the dawn of time, as, much like what is known of these ancient titans, Kahalidman is leagues more powerful than any of the modern deities, but lacks the sentience, or, as argued by some of the more radical Far-Touched preachers, exists in a state that is far beyond the comprehension of any mortal, and to understand even an iota of his presence is to invite mental implosion and grievous madness. Despite his distant and unknowable nature, he has been given many titles by the mortals of Apa Axas, such as the Deeper Dark, the Personification of the Void, the Unfeeling, the Endless Howling at the Face of the Infinite Black, and simply, the Night.   Kahildman appears to be present in the minds of nearly every inhabitant of Apa Axas, and is said to be the dark behind the eyes of every creature. The Eladrin describe the Unfeeling in a far more poetic manner, as they believe Kahalidman to be a being made up of every shadow ever formed, drowned in every grudge ever bared, and adorned in chains of malice and the hollow eyes of misery. This omnipresence may explain why Kahalidman chooses not to communicate with mortals, or bare any distinct emissaries to speak on his behalf, as he does not need to ask what he already knows. However, an alternate theory persists that Kahalidman does not actually exist, and his impacts, such as aiding Gloom Mona or Zemer Epsh, are merely attributed to the wrong deity. However, one glaring piece of evidence for his existence still lingers; The Blackvein, a mark that causes the bearer to rot from the inside out, and each and every victim of this rare die stating the same rhyme, a rhyme that is said to transmit the virus to another: "He sits upon the midnight star, his eyes a multitude of blistered scars, Kahalidman waits upon the Rift, to give the world its most sacred gift". This mark is rare but has been recorded on numerous occasions throughout history, and is said to be the gravest curse one can receive, even more potent than Kal Crist's First Curses.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Kahalidman is unknowable by design, and does not seek to be understood, for he has no care of the plans of mortals, instead, according to who you believe, he either has no plans, or his plans are so incomprehensible and complex that no mortal would live long enough to even consider their basic outline.
