Cazanthal
Cazanthal (meaning "The Castle at the Peak" in Aracian) is the seat of power in Aracia and the ceremonial home of Sovereign Prince Rodrigo Salemanco.
Located in the heart of the capital city Nansuelo, Cazanthal rests on the peak of Mount Marianela, and the top story of the "Peak District" tower that is wedged in the crevice at the mountain's heart, peering out over all of Aracia. It is a nearly impregnable fortress that it built to look as though it is shaped with the natural form of the rock around it, making it barely visible from afar - except for the rare moments that its torchlight is lit.
Accessible by secure elemental lifts, Cazanthal is a sprawling complex more suited to governing than home life. Though it has been in his family for well over a millennia, Rodrigo has always been hesitant to call the palace his own, and keeps only a modest living quarters for his husband and family. He refuses to enter the wing where his father, Bartolome, once lived.
As Aracia pushes closer towards its transition to democratic rule, much of Cazanthal has been overtaken by construction, for it will one day house the nation's Parliament. The ancestral Salemanco throne room has been transformed into a meeting space for future representatives.
Cazanthal has been managed and attended by Alborin Fallhart for decades.
