Honour Guard

Honour Guard is an elite unit of 10-15 knights serving as the bodyguard of the Kings of Krakia. It was formed in the year 10 Church as the first unit of the united Krakian army.

Recruitment

The Honour Guard is made up of the best knights in the Commonwealth. To become a member of the guard one must not only be an excellent fighter, but also must be honourable and chivalrous. Such a knight be recommended to the Commander of the Honour Guard by the local Warden. Then the knight is invited to Krakgorod for evalution of his skills. New knights must be trained in the etiquette of the royal court. Their fighting skills are evaluated in combat with the other members of the guard. If they pass the tests, they are accepted into the ranks of the Honour Guard. Once accepted the knight is bound by oath to serve until his death. Guardsman can leave only in case of a serious injury which makes further service impossible or as reward for heroic service. In both cases it must be approved by the king.

Equipment

The Honour Guard uses the standard equipment of knights, but it is made specifically for them. Their armour is decorated with golden plates on their shoulders and chest. Guards' swords are made by the best blacksmiths in the kingdom.
