(Ship of Fools) Into the Uncharted
The crew of the Punyal, now equipped with the final coordinates of Dandelion’s hidden tower, make straight for uncharted airspace, followed by an Emirati destroyer. Arriving in the dark of night, the party enters the Tower of Pearl and finds a cryptic note on the landing level. Taking a lift down to the laboratory level, they encounter several creatures, seemingly influenced and frenzied by the magic suffused around the area. After a period of wandering at the bottom level, and beginning to work out a cryptic puzzle blocking a room, the party encounter a room that contains a massive sphere of energy contained within a transparent housing. The crew quickly realise that this is the fabled treasure they had been looking for, and as they do so, they are attacked by oozes.
After the oozes are defeated, the crew return to an earlier room and solve a puzzle that allows them access to wondrous weapons. Returning to the sphere, the crew wrap it in cloth and carry it back up to the landing area. Remembering the Emirati destroyer, the crew comes up with a haphazard plan to distract Rear Admiral Alparslan Devaraj and his retinue while they smuggle the sphere onboard the Punyal. This works and the Emirati ship returns to patrol until Sydris experiments with an exit valve connected to the sphere, knocking him backwards and attracting the pursuing ship's attention. With a significantly more armed ship approaching and running out of time, the crew uses one of the exit valves on the sphere and aim it at the Emirati ship, crippling, and then completely destroying the ship as it falls into the Nethergrande.
With their pursuers gone, and an immensely powerful artifact in their hold, the crew head back to Skyharbour, to find an engineer both willing and able to attach the sphere to the ship's power systems.
