The Ancient Ways Organization in Anduron | World Anvil

The Ancient Ways

The Ancient Ways is a religion that mainly has its following under the Javeii. It is the state religion of the Theocracy of the Ancient Ways. Because it's a theocracy, state and religion aren't separate, so the leadership doesn't only govern the religious afairs but is also the official government of the state. It rose to prominence under the fanaticism of the Descendants of the Ancients.

Structure

The leadership of the organization is divided into 4 layers of responsibility. Ultimate power, and with it ultimate responsibility, is in hands of the Holy Protector. This is the highest rank and it can only be assigned to one individual at a time.

The Holy Protector is advised by the High Council, consisting of 3 High Councelors. These councelors are the Holy Protector's most trusted advisors, his inner circle as some would call it.

Each High Councelor has their own Lower Council to advise them. A Lower Council consists of 5 Lower Counselors. WIth 3 Lower Councils this makes for a total of 15 Lower Councelors.

Each Lower Councelor has their own Priesthood both to serve as advisors on local matters as well as to implement decisions locally throughout the state. A Priesthood consists of 7 Priests. With 15 Priesthoods this makes for a total of 105 Priests.

Each Priest leads a Congregation, which consits of a variable number of Followers. These Followers are civilians and not part of the government. This means that Priests are the lowest rank in government and they are the ones closest to the civilian population.

The leadership of the government has a total of 124 members (1 + 3 + 15 + 105). That's 124 leaders of different levels, responsible for running the entirety of ASIF. All of these members are of the Javeii of the Ancient Ways.
