Tevinter Imperium

The Tevinter Imperium is a gigantic nation spanning almost the entirety of the continent of Thedas. As a magocracy mages are not only the ruling class, but also the most priviliged and powerful citizen, particularly those born into noble families with a long history and heritage of being mage-blooded. The Imperium is known for it's ambition and immense knowledge and power, but also for its corruption and secrecy. It's a nation of crass opposites, daring art and fashion, deeply impressive architecture and achievements on the one side, as well as extreme poverty, slavery, and abuse of those not born into a noble family. Its ruler is the Archon, the most powerful person in Thedas, steering the wheel of the nation for better or worse and surrounded by the influential Magisters, men and women of noble background and high ranks in mundane and religious organizations.
