free angel
Free angels are those born on Earth to nefilim parents. Their perspective on the world is highly different from both their nefilim parents and their angelic forebears.
When a nefil woman and either a fallen angel or an angel of the Blessed Choir have a child, there is a much higher chance that an angel will form within a soft-sided egg. Human gestation is shorter than normal, usually about six months long before the mother gives birth (or lays) the egg. The egg firms up and needs to be protected for another 2-4 months before the infant inside is strong enough to survive on its own, at which point it will break out of the egg (or hatch).
One major complication of angelic birth is the chance for the soft-sided egg to rip or break during labor. Without the shell to contain the infant's wings and limbs, the baby becomes breech and may not be able to be born without medical intervention. (See Nathaniel )
Infant free angels hatch without fully-formed feathers, though they do have wings. Pinfeathers form 2-6 weeks after hatching and a child is fully fledged between 12-15 years of age. Full feathers are pigmented as a fallen angel's.
