Hefra

Demographics

The majority of the residents are middle class and somewhat educated. They are mostly made up of merchants and sailors. There are slums on the outskirts of the city. Lords own most of the land at the centre of the city around the castle where the king lives.

Government

Hefra is run by the Baron. He makes the local laws and sets the taxes. He recieves reports from the surrounding region of Wólustra and reports directly to the King. Laws are enforced by the palace guards

Defences

There is a formidable white stone wall, enforced with magic surrounding the city. The entrances are guarded by double gates which are closed each night. The entrance to the dock is guarded by medium sized naval vessels.

Infrastructure

At the centre of the city sits a beautiful castle. Circling outwards, the buildings become less grand. All of the buildings have at least two floors. The walls surrounding the city are well built and near impenetrable. Where Tasa broke through has been repaired with black stone, contrasting with the lighter stone surroundong it as it was cheaper at the time. There are sewers running into the river. There is a hugh dock situated next to a shipyard.

Assets

All kinds of shops and goods can be found and traded in the city.

History

Hefra was the first settlement built by the Kíans and was home to Grateor Lightbringer and his decendants.

Hefra sits on the north eastern bank of the river Lum

Natural Resources

Hefra is surrounded by farmland. All resources are imported either from within the kingdom or from foreign lands.
