Silvercoast

Geography

The Silver Coast is a region on the coast of Akitania and the Mor Bras, stretching from the Garona River Estuary, near Port De La Lune south to the Adour River, near the city of Labourd. The majority of the region is taken up by wilderness and farmland, with few notable settlements between the two rivers. The Medoc Peninsula, between the Gironde and the Sea, is the Northern tip of the coast, a triangular landmass dominated by the Marais d'Hourtin, a brackish marsh of giant ferns. South of the Marais is a small inland sea, partially drained to allow for swampland and agriculture on the higher land.

Ecosystem

The coastline is dominated by powerful waves that throw sand in massive dunes, the largest in Kornôgel, against the the forests of maritime pines. These trees, providing a natural bulwark against erosion and storms, shelter numerous lakes and ponds that are used for agriculture further inland.

Natural Resources

Sea Salt is harvested in saltpans along the coastline, a combination of Jetins Kriores and local Bediz populations. The majority of the region is poorly drained heathland, excellent pasturage for sheep, which are common in the region Pine Lumber from the maritime forests is prized for shipbuilding.
