Kabitenez Rozera Gwelevus (a.k.a. The Brightshield)
"The eyes of the fiends flashed with fire, the blood-slicked streets heralding their dark desire,
For the gold and lifeblood of the city between the hills, their laughter increasing as they made their kills.
But hark, shining along the noble street, standing in the fire's heat,
steadfast was the Brightshield, and the feasome sword that she wields.
She raised her sword and gave the cry, this is not our time to die!
And with that shout, she sallied out
driving into the fray, the brightshield shining like the day,
The captain fair was made aware,
of the shout from the Shield, and with blade in hand he took the field
Staring down the valiant maid, the last defense to his gruesome raid.
He expected her to quake with fright, preparing for his bronzesteel bite,
but instead she stood her ground, no ounce of worry to be found,
and on that bloody day, reverbed the motto of the Montroulez!
She took his head with a mighty hack, "if you bite us, we bite you back!!!"

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Rozera is in excellent physical condition, constantly drilling and sparring to keep her skills honed and operate as the vanguard of the Blackwater forces and the arduous requirements of the Wyvern Riders.
Specialized Equipment
Rozera typically wears a distinctively goldsteel armor set, a finely crafted suit of platemail constructed by Kriores artificiers, over a chainmail tabard, padded with a light yellow fabric. This is accented with a fine cape of deep red fabric, connected to her armor by a contraption that allows it to be snapped away with little effort.
Rozera carries a large and unique bastard sword, also of Kriores design, that is weighted and balanced in such a way as to add extra power to her swings, a gift from the Kriores merchants of Montroulez for her defense of their homes.

Personal history
Rozera was born the firstdaughter and second child to a wealthy Julod family of Montroulez. Expected to take over the family business of flax production, Rozera continually chose to defy her parents wishes, becoming a lieutenant in the well-financed Montroulez militia, taking part in the defense of the city against a devastating attack by pirates from Logres . There, she defended a barricade along the Uhelstraed along a barricade, preventing the attackers from reaching the interior of the city, rallying a counterattack that drove the pirates back to the harbor. This event gained her the moniker "the Brightshield", drawn from her brilliant golden armor that glinted in the fires burning across the city.
Rozera's exploits drew the attention of the Barons of Blackwater, who granted her a position in the elite Windgaurd, where she excelled, rising to the rank of Kabitanez of the Wyvern Riders.

Drawing from her family's wealth, Rozera was educated in one of the monasteries in the hills around her home city, while also receiving training from the well-financed Montroulez militia. As she became more independent, she forwent the former and dedicated herself to her martial training.
Employment
Serving as the Kabitanez of the Wyvern Riders, Rozera is a highly ranked officer in the Blackwater windguard, leading aerial maneuvers off of Windships against viking raiders or monsters. While not in the field, Rozera often leads the castle guard at Kastell Tonkedeg or Kastell Roc'h-Derrien.
Accomplishments & Achievements
The legend of the Brightshield's heroic defense of Montroulez gained Rozera both notoriety and ego, establishing her as an effective leader and popular folk hero amongst the merchant class. A Julod from a peasant family, her rise in the traditionally noble-focused Windgaurd and her victories in that position have continued to amaze her supporters and critics.
Intellectual Characteristics
Rozera operates on a very simple level of tactics, preferring direct and straightforward engagements to complicated feints or subterfuge. Typically leading charges personally and bringing up the rear in a retreat, giving her allies time to retreat, she has gained a reputation of being in the thick of the fighting rather than commanding from the rear.

Rozera lives for the thrill of battle and the clink of coin, goals well suited to her role in the Wyvern gaurd. While mercenary in her habits, she remains fiercely loyal to her friends and those under her command.

Rozera is a member of the Ambaxtoi colloquially known as the "Dragons of Dreger", along with the Nathair Vivien Lac-Plavin, the siege-engineer Kristina of Brest, the Arkanist Anjela Gwerelaouen and Salia Blackwater. The Dragons of Dreger operate both as the elite of the Blackwater forces as well as a semi-independent Free-Company in times of peace.
