Fernus, God of the Sun and Day

His Divine heat knows no bounds

God of the Sun and Day Fernus (a.k.a. The Warm God)

The sun shines bright and warm on the skin of those so far below. A comfortable and friendly warmth, crucial for all of life. Day time is the time of production and activity, civilization needs sunlight and day time, civilization needs Fernus. The alpha of the Pantheon, Fernus is the unquestioned number one worshiped deity in eastern Altheria. Referred to by the general populous as the Warm God. Heavily worshiped in five of the six regions. Fernus is kind, caring and thoughtful towards his followers, champions and priests.   The sun blazes hot and vicious. Striking down on the skin of those who spite him. Burning exposed skin and exhausting weary travelers, those that insult the Warm God are subject to unparalleled punishment. Brutal droughts and heatwaves, vicious rays of sun that not even shade can protect you from. Fernus will not be taken for a fool, attempts of trickery or deceit can put a person on the bad side of one of the most powerful beings in existence. Only the night can save those from Fernus...but then again, the sun always rises.

The Sun and Daytime

Holy Books & Codes

The Bright Laws: A series of codes and rules believed to have come from Fernus itself. These laws discuss how to lead a morally just and sound life. Some highlights include being a friendly and giving neighbor, being involved in ones community, and not being wasteful. The biggest of all is seizing the day, each one is a gift and it should be fully used.   The Sun's Path: A famous book written by a devote Priest from Novius. The book details the notable actions and achievements of Fernus and recalls his ascension to the top of the pantheon. Some of his most discussed achievements in this book talk about the creation of the Sun, his fights against Rorum to establish a dedicated amount of time for Day and Night. Fernus advocated for the people and knew that civilization needed him to survive and he delivered by fighting viciously and nonstop for daytime. In return the people of eastern Altheria has rewarded him with an unequal amount of praise and worship increasing his power enough to ascend to the top of the pantheon.

It celebrates the ending summer time and the love that Fernus bestowed upon the people. This holiday is celebrated in five of the six regions, excluding Stelliah. During this week, many people spend their day partying, playing games, relaxing. Often times during these days there are magical tournaments in larger towns and cities. These tournaments are focused on which magic user can create a bigger display of magic power. Often times judged by a panel of mages from a local magic guild. Not once in recorded history has their been a rainy day during Ignallium festivities.

    Divine Goals & Aspirations

It is well known that Fernus advocates for the people. His goals align for what is best for humanity at the time. If it requires more day for increased productivity that is his focus. If overpopulation is a threat then he will send a drought. He always has the best in mind for humanity although in certain cases it may not appear that way. Physical Description

    General Physical Condition

A perfectly tanned and golden man, in peak physical condition, this is quite obvious as Fernus is almost never depicted wearing any form of clothing over his upper body. He is clean shaven and often jovial. His height always matches the being he is conversing with. It is believed he does this to show that he is on the same level of those he converses with, never looking down on upon anyone. But at the same time this also signifies how no one is above him.

    Body Features

A Golden tan graces his skin. A blazing sun is tattooed over his heart. It can be challenging at times to get a definitive look at his body as the heat that radiates from him gives off a slight distortion effect. Many times people cannot stay in the presence of Fernus for too long, the natural heat of his being can quickly exhaust and dehydrate a person. No matter how much he tries to restrain it, his natural power is too prominent.

    Facial Features

He is clean shaven with a powerful jaw line, his depictions and appearance is considered very attractive. He has wise orange eyes that blaze with an immortal confidence. He is the owner of a bright smile as well, contagious as a good deed. The bridge of his nose peppered with a row of freckles.

    History

Sharing a pantheon with each other is essentially the sole reason these two interact. Their domains do not interact often and neither really bothers the other. They clearly find each other slightly annoying thanks to parallel personalities. But while Fernus' domains support life he has no say in life itself, however on a few occasions Fernus pesters Vath about the afterlives of his more devote followers.
