Death

Holy Books & Codes

The After: A religious book explaining the rules of Vath and how he is the final judge upon what plane people go to upon death. It details suggestions and things people should do in order to go to the plane where they desire to spend eternity. The After is a very famous book that many people own and almost everyone knows of. It is quite often to find it on the shelves of even the poorest of people.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

A cracked front facing skull with no lower jaw

Tenets of Faith

Those that choose to decidedly worship Vath only must abide by a simple rule. Acceptance. Death is inevitable in life and those that chase immortality are foolish. It is okay to be scared of it and be sad or even angry about death. But to accept it and appreciate the beauty of death.

Holidays

Memorium Day: A day that is different for everyone. This holiday is a holiday celebrated on the day of the death of a beloved. Often times a person will spend time at the grave of their loved one and have a drink or meal and sit in silence. The day is meant to serve as a reflection of ones time with another and to keep their memory alive and well.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

He is the gate guardian of the afterlife. Anyone who dies meets him, anyone looking to resurrect a person must bargain with him. Although it may not seem that way at the time Vath wins all deals. His goal is simple. He exists to maintain the balance of life and death. Without death the world would be a horrible and chaotic place.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Vath has always existed like the other true Gods of Altheria. He guards the gate of death and passage into the afterlife. Judging who goes where after their passing.   Vath appears in a multitude of forms. Always looking slightly different to each person based on their views, feelings and perceptions of death. Because of this most depictions of him he is in a hooded cloak or shrouded in shadows. It is often easy to confuse Vath for the Grim Reaper in paintings. But their are a few distinct differences in such paintings, Vath never is seen with a scythe, Vath is depicted with glowing eyes and has skin as opposed to the skeletal look of the Reaper.   While Vath comes for everyone he is often open to making bargins with people looking to bring back the soul of a person. But be warned when bargaining with him, he always wins.   Vath is often associated with Necromancy as many of his disciples are quite skilled in the art. He is believed to have been the one to have introduced the magic of necromancy into the world by bestowing some of his powers into his champions. Vath appreciates necromancers. He sees them as people brave enough to learn about and play with death, he doesn't believe they're crossing a line when reanimating a corpse or creating new life. He simply cares for the souls of those that have passed he doesn't care for the bodies they leave behind.

History

Naturally these two do not get along. While Vath has come to see and admit the importance of Coxillium's domain and work. Coxillium absolutely despises Vath, all are aware of this as well. Vath having the nerve to reap Coxilliums art enrages him to no avail. Meetings of the gods often end with both of these two bickering back and forth. Typically Coxillium yelling at Vath, while Vath makes slight comments back and typically just ignores him.

History

Sharing a pantheon with each other is essentially the sole reason these two interact. Their domains do not interact often and neither really bothers the other. They clearly find each other slightly annoying thanks to parallel personalities. But while Fernus' domains support life he has no say in life itself, however on a few occasions Fernus pesters Vath about the afterlives of his more devote followers.

History

Vath despises the famous Lich. His undeath is an insult to Vath. He has existed for far longer than Vath believes he should have. It is believed that Vath had sent two of his champions after Vollahx but they were converted into part of his army. Vollahx has some respect for Vath.

My child do not fear. He comes for everyone, he never discriminates. He is fair but firm, his will is final. He will judge you just as he has judged millions before. Many fear him, some greet him with open arms, some pray to him and others run, but everyone meets the almighty Vath.
