Catherine was born in Pennharth to a noble family known as the Calentine family. She was a spoiled child who spent most of her time painting and performing. She was a talented singer and harp player who got the best bards in the country to teach her after asking her parents. She would often perform for other lords when they visited Pennharth and she would always bring her instrument with her when traveling with her parents. During a tourney in Fangorn, Catherine played for the emperor Tybalt Trugar and his family. It was there she met Lorcan Trugar who she fell in love with. The two married only a few years later and they would have three children together. Catherine died during the Tru Betrayal as she was assassinated alongside her oldest son Zarichar.
