Saladyne Empire
The Sun shall always shine upon the Saladyne Empire. Founded 634 years ago by the war hero Adrian Saladyne who united the surviving city states under one banner. The Saladyne Empire has become the beacon for hope, equality and discovery that has ushered in the new era.
Structure
There is an emperor that lives in the capital city along with a council of advisers. Despite that, each major city has some sort of ruler that manages the city as well as a good portion of the surrounding land. The Empire's laws are enforced throughout the cities and the cities forces serve the Empire. Many of the duties handled by the Empire are divided up amongst the five orders that were formed by the first emperor's companions. The five orders act as specialized guards, soldiers, and imperial workers that take their orders from the emperor or the head of the order.
Public Agenda
The Empire’s agenda is to provide a safe haven for all and to correct the mistakes of the era before.
Assets
The Saladyne Empire is currently the wealthiest and largest empire/realm/kingdom currently standing and commands a vast military.
History
After the events of the Sun Shield War, Adrian Saladyne was hailed as a hero who saved the continent and quite possibly the world. He was named the ruler of the surviving remnants of civilization on the continent. The denizens of the continent began to refer to the continent as Saladyne despite the protests of Adrian Saladyne. His compatriots became his most trusted advisers and created orders to help this burgeoning empire. Roughly 200 years later the dwarven strongholds in the Drakemaw Mountains demanded independence from the empire. Not wanting to start a war the emperor at the time granted this to them. Due to the position of the Drakemaw Mountains, several other cities in the southern half of the continent were cut off from the empire and also granted their Independence. Now, roughly 50 years later the Empire only controls the northern half of the continent and subtly prepares for a war it might not be able to avoid.
Demography and Population
Largely populated by humans the Saladyne Empire has become a place of welcome to all sorts of races uniting them all under the same banner.
Foreign Relations
The Empire holds strong ties with the Dothuri Realm, the Zadikari Realm, and the Temple
Cities of Norell. They are considered enemies by the Iron Horn Dominion. Their ties with the Rock Drake Imperium has been deteriorating with the past decades. Both sides closed their embassies as the tension has reached an all time high.
Education
The Order Of The Open Book had set up Illum Chambers throughout the empire to provide an organized education to those that want it. There is also the Castoval Academy of Greater Understanding. The academy is a large college with several campuses throughout the western part of the empire.
Infrastructure
The Empire as constructed the Copper Road. A cobblestone road that goes from coast to coast. Every four feet there is a brick made of copper that reflects light at night. Most of the major rivers have bridges with the exception of the Mirrored Run.
