Havarald's Summonable Scriviner

A spell created by the wizard Havarald
This spell requires you to create a device that is animated and summoned to your location by the spell.
The device is made with a humanoid skull with three wire attached metal armatures where its jaw bone would be. One of these arms has a slot to hold a writing quill, the central armature can swing forward and is designed to hold a standard pot of ink while the third arm is fashioned to hold and move a scroll of paper to enable the pen arm to write continuously. The device requires two high quality emeralds to be placed within the skull to contain the flow of magical energy, these are most commonly placed in the eye sockets of the skull, for the pleasing aesthetics of two faintly glowing green eyes. 
Once animated, the skull will float by the caster's head and will take note of anything that the caster says for the next hour or until dismissed.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

A very precise form of animation magic and combining of several spells mean that the hovering skull can pick up and identify the casters voice and transpose that into writing. 
The Scrivener will only write verbatim and will spell out any filled pauses, which means that without practise, it is better for taking notes rather than completing accurate works.

Manufacturing process

Once the device has been assembled, the ritual spell and the attuning process need to begin, this takes three hours of intense concentration to complete. 
Once this has been done, the Scrivener can be summoned and animated with another spell, which takes ten minutes to complete which summons the skull from anywhere within a hundred yards and animates it for an hour.
