Scope
The motivation behind building Allatar
A world where hope is ebbing away, where war has ended everything slowly, not with a bang but a whimper. Evil has won and all good can do is cling on for a little longer.
The goal of the project
A world for introspective adventure where heroes have to consider their actions and what they have done and what impact that those actions have on the others around them, but also one with a lot of enemies and danger.
Allatar's Unique Selling point
The world is dying, hope, magic and life are draining away as the great and ancient evil rises.
Theme
Genre
High Fantasy, magic is common but now unpredictable and not trusted by the general population. War increased industry, some equivalent technology to Renaissance level inventions with magical flavour. Mostly weapons of war. Magic weapons were created en masse in the war so are common by now.
Reader Experience
The world feels moribund and hopeless.
