Galvanic Crystals

By securing the elemental magic of lighting within specially shaped cut of the crystal known as Galvanite, these crystal containers can be used to power a number of different technologies.
The most widespread usage of the technology was in the Creation Forge used to birth the Warforged 
During the Last War, many technologies were invented to make use of this portable arcane power source, as even the most magically dull person could use one to create powerful magical effects. Many of the most devastating weapons of the latter period of the war used Galvanic Crystal batteries to empower them.

Utility

The crystals were used to power all sorts of machinery and technology, from the Creation Forges to special door locks and siege weapons.

Manufacturing

By creating a specific magical field around the crystal and by then evocating elemental lighting into the machinery, the crystals become full of charge. 
This charge is used up depending on the intensity of the job required, acting as a door lock, for example, would mean the average crystal could last for decades, some of the mighty siege weapons created during the war would use up dozens of crystals every time they fired.

A specific process is required to cut the Galvanite to the correct dimensions and the crystal must be totally free from flaws else risk a catastrophic failure.
