Brackland
Brackland is one of the eight countries of Lusitania. It lies on the eastern center of the continent with a big part of its territory being desert and almost uninhabited. The people from Brackland are very progressive and technologically advanced.
Geography
Brackland lies on the eastern coast of Lusitania. The borders of Brackland are pretty much undefined. The beginning of the swamp defines the border to Mootland. The border toSüdland in the west is an imaginary vertical line beginning at the highlands and ending out the Bauxblanc Bay. The highlands themself define the northern border to Middenland, however, conflicts about this region disable a clear definition. It measures about 54900 square miles, while about a good quarter of it is desert territory. It's capital lies in the eastern area of the country outside of the desert.Climate
The coast of Brackland has a classical hot and dry desert climate. Because of the highlands, the regions beyond the desert are hit by a lot of rainfall due to the fact of lying on the windward side of the highlands. The temperatures however reach subtropical and even tropical values, ranging from 10°C to 32°C. The desert might even reach temperatures beyond 40°C.Vegetation
Brackland has savanna-like vegetation. The high rainfall in the northern regions allows a small jungle to grow, which is an important part of Brackland's research territory. The desert allows only a few plants and animals to live there.History

Initially, Brackland was the eastern part of the central colony of Lusitania. It doubles its territory by conquering the highlands from Middenland in the first Lusitanian war from 4351-4343 b. BF. Brackland and Unterland agree on an alliance with each other, due to having a common enemy, Middenland. However, this alliance breaks in 4324 b. BF, after Unterland's crushing defeat against Südland. In 4265 b. BF, a noble house of Brackland is assassinated from Yuan-Ti, resulting in a war between Brackland and Mootland. Brackland allies with Middenland for financial support, however, Brackland is unable to conquer the swamp and retreats, eventually negotiating peace. In 4057 b. BF, a big amount of soldiers and scientists is called to assist The Human Empire in fighting against the Undead for about 50 years. In 3522 b. BF, the methods of alchemy prosper in Brackland, giving a certain boost to magic, druidic crafts, and science. Mootland manages to convince Brackland to agree to an alliance with it in 3340 b. Religion
The Pantheon of the Twelve-Gods is the dominating religion in Brackland. However, religion does not have that big of importance in Brackland compared to other countries. Especially Gruxva, the goddess of art and science, has a pronounced weight for people from Brackland.Lifestyle
Brackland is the most progressive country in Lusitania and its society is very different. Brackland is a place of equal opportunities. The role of genders is pretty much obsolete. However, the population is split into two major parts: Scientists and Non-scientist. The first group contains, as the name suggests, scientists, but also wizards, alchemists, and officers. The non-scientists are the foundation of the people, namely peasants, soldiers, and service providers. This split is just a formal thing and has no big influence on the people from Unterland. In general, Brackland's security is relatively strong due to its technological superiority. The only real threat to Brackland is its western neighbors Middenland and Unterland.Politics
Administration
Brackland is a classical monarchy, reigned by one ruler, a distinct relative, and heir of Rondra. However, the government assisting the king almost exclusively contains scientists. Political decisions are very rational and based on facts and research.Foreign Policy
Brackland is allied with Mootland. There is a general disagreement of Brackland towards Oberland, Südland, and Rondrarien because of their traditional retrogressive policy. However, the distance between these countries and Brackland's respect of Südland prevents any wars between these countries. Brackland's biggest enemy in Lusitania is Unterland without question. The flag of Brackland shows a golden lion on a red-white background surrounded by twelve stars on a blue background. The lion on the red-white background symbolizes Bracklands loyalty towards the Human Empire while the twelve stars initially represent the Twelve-Gods. This flag has been created in times of the colonies and there might be many people from Brackland disagreeing with the meaning of this flag.

Alliance
Brackland and Mootland are allied. However, after realizing Mootland is reigned by the Yuan-Ti, Brackland is rather careful with the alliance, while Mootland tries to strengthen it.
Disagreement
Both parties disagree on the traditional, respectively progressive lifestyle of the respective other parties. However, the big distance between both of them prevents a conflict from erupting.
Conflict
Middenland and Brackland have a conflict about the borders going on once more. For now, the COUCOL prevents this conflict from turning into a war.
Disagreement
Rondrarien condemns the technological advance of Brackland and their weak piety. Brackland however, doesn't agree with Rondrariens regressive lifestyle and politics.
