Oberland
Oberland is one of the eight countries of Lusitania. It lies on the northwestern coast of the continent and therefore has a strongly pronounced navy. The people from Oberland are very traditional and loyal to the king of Lionstone.
Geography
Oberland lies on the northwestern coast of Lusitania. The river Bozonnet acts as the country's southern border, while the mountains of Rauland and Middenland are the eastern border of Oberland. It measures about 64000 sq-miles and therefore is the third-largest country in Lusitania. Its capital Blipolis is located on the western coast of the country.Climate
Oberland mainly lies in the subtropical climate zone. Although it is close to the ocean, the climate is rather continental and therefore rather dry. The temperatures reach from about 8°C in the winter to 31°C peaks in summers. The summers are very dry and the winters have just a little more precipitation.Vegetation
In Oberland, one could find deciduous forest but also typical subtropical vegetation like sclerophyllous plants. Typical animals you can find in Oberland are leopards, gazelles, and other animals from the steppe. The ocean around Oberland is filled with very diverse fish.History

Oberland initially was the western part of the northern colony. Oberland is a very peace-loving country and therefore never really engaged in open wars with its neighbors. The first 'aggression' was towards Unterland when challenging them for a naval arms race in 4302 b. BF. This competition went rather dirty, with both candidates sabotaging each other's harbors. However, Oberland mostly relied on diplomatic solutions when it came to problems. In 4195 b. BF, Oberland breached the naval blockade of the Drow and freed the harbors and supply routes of Rauland. In exchange, Oberland was allowed to mine the mountain ranges of Rauland for stone and resources. This agreement was broken in 642 b. BF, when Oberland denied helping Rauland against an invasion of the Drow. The navy of Oberland was not available because it was assisting The Human Empire in fighting the Undead. Oberland's milestones in history base on seafaring and explorations, for example, being an important part of the tenth holy expedition in 3478 b. BF for twenty years.Culture
Religion
The Pantheon of the Twelve-Gods is the dominating religion in Oberland. Since Oberland has good relations with Rondrarien, the belief might be even stronger than other countries in Lusitania.Lifestyle
The people from Oberland are very traditional and conservative. Their lifestyle is very similar to the lifestyle of Humans from Lionstone with a few exceptions. Many children strive for the same professions as their parents. Oberland has a very distinctive knighthood and the differences between citizens, nobles, and peasants are pretty large. Many people from Oberland work as seafarers, fishermen, or farmers.Politics
Administration
Oberland is a classical monarchy, reigned by one ruler, a distinct relative, and heir of Rondra. A simple governmental system aids the king in ruling the country. In essence, Oberland tries to mimic the government of Lionstone as well as possible.Foreign Policy
Oberland stands relatively neutral to most countries of Lusitania. It has good relations withRondrarien and Lionstone and supports Middenland and Rauland. The flag of Oberland shows a black anchor on a red-white striped background. Obviously, red and white symbolize loyalty to the Human Empire, while the anchor stands for Oberland's affiliation to the sea.

Oberland and Lionstone have outstanding relations. Oberland sees Lionstone (and the Human Empire) as their highest ruler. Lionstone can always count on Oberland following orders.

Oberland is very loyal and respective towards the traditional methods of Rondrarien. Rondrarien really respects Oberland's loyalty towards the Human Empire and their piety.

Oberland and Middenland don't have an alliance but support each other economically and financially.
Neutrality
Oberland tries to make friends with Rauland. Rauland however, is mad about Oberland's decision of denying them support when they were attacked by the Drow in 642 b. BF.
Naval Rivalry, Arms race
Both factions don't go very well with each other. They manipulate each other in the competition for the strongest navy. However, this rivalry did not result in a war yet.
