Südland
Südland is one of the eight countries of Lusitania. It lies in the center of Alendia and is officially the oldest country of Lusitania. The territory of Südland is mainly desert and therefore inhabited by mostly nomads. But the desert also bears mineral resources, making Südland the richest country in Lusitania and probably the whole New World.
Geography
Südland lies in the southern center of Lusitania. The borders are well defined: In the south, the southern mountain range is the border to Rondrarien, while in the north and the west, the beginning of the desert defines the borders of Südland. The border in the east towards Brackland is an imaginary vertical line beginning at the highlands and ending out the Bauxblanc Bay. Südland's capital Kalarit is a rather small city lying next to an oasis in the middle of the country.Climate
Obviously, Südland has a desert climate with high temperatures and very low precipitation. However, Südland lacks temperature regulation like clouds or a sea nearby. Therefore, over the day temperatures can reach 50°C or even higher, but overnight it often cools down to bearable temperatures around 20°C. Seasons like summer and winter are basically nonexistent in Südland. It is not unusual that the temperatures in cities and camps are much more endurable with the help of magic.Vegetation

Initially, Südland was just a huge desert, uninhabited by any Humans. However, around 6900 b. BF, due to migration in the western coast colony leads to some humans settling in the desert. After discovering gold and other mineral resources, a kingdom starts to rise, the so-called Südland. Only in 4386 b. BF, Südland was officially transformed into a country of The Human Empire. In 4327 b. BF, Unterland allies with Brackland and declares war on Südland, greedy for gold and resources. Südland allies with Middenland since Südland's military strength was basically nonexistent. After two years of war, Südland invests about 80% of the countries gold to buy soldiers out of the enemy's army, resulting in victory. The alliance between Middenland and Südland breaks in 3872 b. BF, due to disagreements of the second lusitanian war. In 3113 b. BF, the Trader's Alliance allies with Südland, increasing each other's wealth even more. From that point on, Südland gains more and more power and influence. Despite a very average military, its wealth was much more threatening towards potential enemies. Additionally, Südland learns about the use of gold in terms of corruption and politics.Culture
Religion
The Pantheon of the Twelve-Gods is the dominating religion in Südland. Many people follow strict religious rules and traditions. However, because of djinns and other powerful magical creatures living in the desert, some people might believe in these creatures as well.Lifestyle
The life of a person from Südland can either be very stressful and dangerous or extremely luxurious. The life of a nomad is rather poor, pilgrimaging from one oasis to another and looking for a way to earn money and water. On the other hand, the life of nobles and sultans is heavenly. However, in the end, neither of those have to fear threats coming from outside the country. Südland counts as basically untouchable and despite the big social gap between nomads and nobles is so huge, the sultans of Südland would protect their people from such threats.Politics
Administration
Südland is a classical monarchy, reigned by one ruler, a distinct relative, and heir of Rondra. However, the authority of this ruler can only be ensured by the loyalty of the sultans, rich people, controlling gold, mineral, and water resources in a specific region. Because of religion and tradition, these sultans stay very loyal to the king (or highest sultan) of Südland.Foreign Policy
It might seem like Südland stays rather isolated and doesn't ally with any other country. However, the actual influence of Südland is much larger. Because of its incredible wealth, Südland controls some politicians and noblemen of other countries and can therefore strike favorable deals for Südland without even getting involved. This is one of the main reasons why Südland doesn't get attacked despite its comparable weak military.
The flag of Südland shows a sun with the colors of the Humans Empire. These colors just like the golden lion represent its loyalty towards the Empire. The yellow background represents the desertland and gold found in Südland.

Südland has outstanding importance for the Human Empire because of its huge mass of gold and resources. Therefore, Lionstone makes the effort to stay as good as possible with them. Südland has a good relationship with Lionstone, since being part of the Empire brings big benefits. However, the relation isn't perfect, because Südland initially didn't agree with the methods of the Empire.
Appreciation, Non-aggression pact
Both countries respect each other conservative behavior, ultimately resulting in a non-aggression pact. Additionally, Südland supports Rondrarien financially for religious services.
