Areians of Atain

Osthrim, called Silver Elves by the Nugata, and Moon Elves by the Tinjin, are citizens of the hidden elf city of Atain, in the Kingdom of Bronze of Tinjir. The Osthrim live with the Tililthrim, the Osthrim dwelling in the marble towers of the city, while the Tililthrim dwell in the forested river valleys around the base of the city. The two elven people live in a symbiotic relationship, providing protection and augmenting each other's way of life. Both working to make Atain the picture of what the Areian Nations once was, even if on this small scale.

Osthrim live in the marble towers of Atain. They with their towers are often what is seen of the city by the few outsiders that come in. This has given many the impression that Atain is a solely Toeman'are city. The numbers do not match this however, as the Tililthrim have twice the numbers as the Osthim. The exact numbers are unknown; however, the best estimate is around two hundred and fifty Osthrim live in Atain in the modern day.

These elves cultivate gardens and orchards around, and within their towers. Those that taste these fruits, vegetable, and nuts claim that once eaten all other food taste bland ever after. The Osthrim provide these in trade to the Tililthrim for their meats. An example of one of the many balances the two peoples bring to their harmonious city.

In spite of all the peace within Atain, the Osthrim are not a people of peace. They know their pocket of harmony in the world comes at a price and every adult elf, Osthrim and Tililthrim alike, train to fight any threats that come to Atain. The Tililthrim focus their efforts on guarding the city from the outside world, endlessly patrolling the borders of their region, and beyond to keep threats out. The Osthrim have focused their efforts towards the Scaro. Osthrim send patrols into the Wilds to eliminate Orc threats that rise up in the western regions. Most citizens of the Kingdom of Bronze do not realize that it is the citizens of Atain that keep the Scaro Wilds at bay from fulling invading their lands.

The Osthrim have a strong alliance with Nugator. They two countries working to cull the orc threat. Queen Utica has even been invited to Atain after her crowning to show the trust the elves have for her and the Nugata people and their efforts. She has a permanent staff of Osthrim advisors in Nu’ati to aid her and her nation.

In their private life at home in Atain, Osthrim wear fine skins. They prefer darker colors than some of their cousins in other lands. However, when venturing out of their towers, they will always be seen in armor of the finest make. The long history of a violent world has made the Osthrim a cautious people.

Osthrim hair is often more muted in color than other Toeman'are. Darker colors to appear, due to generations of intermarriage with their Tililthrim neighbors. Human bloodlines for the ancient past also add to this. Women keep their hair long but often wear heavy veils when venturing out to protect it. Mens hair is usually kept shorter and never allowed to grow past shoulder length. Osthrim, universally, have aquamarine eye colors. Some variations in hue to appear, with some more green, while others have more of the blue, but it is always that aquamarine base, even in mixed marriage children.

Alignment: Osthrim, believe heavily in the laws of their people and the balance of nature and creation. This leads them towards more lawful, and neutral alignments.

Age: Osthrim can live, on average, about 400 to 600 years naturally.

Size: (Medium) Osthrim are a tall people, averaging about 6 feet for both genders.

Language: Sebludai (Farland Elvish) is the primary language of Atain. Many Osthrim will know Seva Dai (Elvish Common) as well, for communication with other elven cultures. Nearly every Osthrim will learn the Common Tongue to communicate with those from the outside world when needed.
