Areians of Atain

The Tililthrim, sometimes called Vale Elves, are Woyd'are that dwell with the Osthrim in the Elf city of Atain, deep in the mountains of the Kingdom of Bronze in Tinjir. These elves live in the forested river valleys around the spiring marble peaks of Atain. They and the Toeman'are of Atain live in a symbiotic relationship. The two groups working to keep Atain safe from the outside world, and an ideal elven city for those allowed to see the city.

While the city, with its towers and high elf architecture, is often call a Toeman'are city, the Tililthrim outnumber the Osthrim two to one. They, however, are rarely seen, preferring to keep to their forest and river valleys that surround the city. They may be far less seen by outsiders coming into Atain, but outsiders are always seen first by the Tilithrim, who patrol the borders of the city and beyond. As the saying goes 'No one enters Atain, who does not have hidden Tililthrim arrows aimed at them.'

The Tililthrim hunt and fish the lands, providing the bulk of all meat in the city, while the Osthrim provide the fruits, vegetables, and nuts from their gardens. The vale elves maintain balance in their lands, cultivating deer and ibex herds. Predators are kept from their lands. Wolves, bears, and any animal, or monster, that might hunt their herds, or their people will be eliminated or guided off out of the region.

Vale elves are not only the guardians of the lands around Atain. They have strong connections with Akadia, and it is not strange to see an Akadian tribe with one or two Tililthrim in their hunting parties during their annual Roc hunts.

Tililthrim prefer leather clothing and armor. Some wear wool and linen clothing that is hardy and can survive the elements. They do not like the fragility of the silks of the Osthrim. Natural colors, that match their environment, are preferred. Wearing leaves, wood pieces, and the like is seen as stylish. The primary use of this is for additional camouflage, however, Tililthrim culture has come to use this as 'flair' similar to jewelry in other cultures. Body and face painting is common. The vale elves do not like tattooing, rather they create stains to mark their skin. These stains can last a few months or even years but fade eventually.

Hair and eye color is nearly always variations of brown. Both sexes keep their hair long and loose. Leaf oils are used to keep the hair healthy and controlled.

Alignment: Tililthrim, living in haromony with the Osthrim of Atain, believe in the balance of nature and civilization. This often leads them to neutral or lawful aligments.

Age: On average Tililthrim can live from 400 to 600 years naturally.

Size: (Medium) A tall people the Tililthrim average 6 feet. Women are sometimes shorter by a few inches, but the two genders are often the same height.

Language: Sebludai (Farland Elvish) is the primary language of Atain. Few Tililthrim care to learn or remember another other languages beyond those of their own people. many will learn Seva Dai (Elvish Common) for communication with other elven cultures. Those that have connection to Akadia will learn the Common Tongue to communicate with their friends in that land.
