Iron Brew

Skal, or as it is more commonly called, Iron Brew, is a mead brewed by the Dwarves of Plash in the Plashin Range of Novyum, on the major continent of Ethae This sweet alcoholic beverage is made of fermented honey, and the Dwarf use mountain flowers and cave mushrooms to give it an earthy flavor and aroma. The mead is a favorite drink in taverns of Axia Valley and the Plash Inn in the Plashin Pass. These are the only two locations the dwarves send their merchants to sell their brew on mass. All other bottles, the ones found in taverns across Slavyum, or at noble parties in the Heartlands can only be aquired by merchants traveling to Plashkyn to buy bottles. This makes the drink extremely expensive outside of the Axia Valley and Plash Inn.
In spite of, or prehaps because of, its dificulty to obtain, Iron Brew is an extremely popular drink across Novyum. Those that can afford the prices, will pay. It is best to drink it in moderation, not only because of the high price tag, but also because its sweet earthy scent and flavor can mislead the consumer, hiding its high alcohol content.
The Dwarves see it both as an everyday drink, consumed during their every meal, but also a near magical drink imparting vision and unlocking the wisdom within. The poets and artisans of Clan Ironwall in particular will consume large quantities of the beverage looking for inspiration for their creations.
