Advanced Casting

Second Level of True Casting

Known as Min, or the more ancient Ming, to scholars of the Anon (Magic), advanced casting is the second level of true casting. Where Elementary Casting can be learned relatively quickly once the fundamentals are understood, and the body and mind trained, advanced casting is where the strain of casting begins to take its toll on casters.

Advanced castings take years of training to begin controlling. The somatic movements must be precise, and the body must be honed to channel the internal Daanan outward to control the magic effects created. It is at this level of casting that a Wand, Staff, or Rod become useful to ease the casting cost for the Wizard.

It is nearly unheard of for none educated casters to reach this level of casters. Graduates of Wizarding College, more often than not, graduate with only elementary level casting, with the top of the class able to use advanced magic at graduation. That said, those that continue studying magic after graduation will pick up some skills in advanced casting throughout their lives.
