Zombie is the second book of the Black Teachings. It regards the largest portion of Saint Ironia's life, following her decades-long quest to vanquish Mavet's seventy-two Limbs of Influence and banish the rotten god from the mortal realm. It spans seventy-three extensive chapters (more than Child and Decay and Rebirth, combined), narrating her continuous spiritual elevation, mirrored by her gradual physical deterioration. It is considered by the many to be the most important book of the three. Most of the morals that are taught by the Church of the Black Zombie are derived from this book. It is also here that the Great Black Pillars are first introduced - the leaders whose first generation wrote down the three books founded the church.
