Calena was the mother of Sarhilde, Lindru, and Hrothwaite; and Kalfr’s second wife. She was from the Phoneutria tribe. .
Calena had moved to the remote area of Lie-de-Vin to escape an arranged marriage and joined the Clockmakers. She struggled with depression and homesickness most of her life. She was notorious for trying to convince Kalfr to not cremate himself when he died, as she obsessively wished that they be buried together.
Mallt refers to her as ‘Aunt Calena’ and is glad she never tried to be her mother. About ten years into her marriage with Kalfr, Calena vanished after displaying erratic symptoms and insisting she forgot something in the forest- symptoms of Forest Rot.
Her bloodied clothes were found near The Naefergrene , the morning after she disappeared- her physical body was never found.
