Acceptance of the Title of King of kings of the Abadian islands

This message, roughly equating to a surrender by the Dwarves of Zhakhzad, was delivered to the war council of a Recsalbi nearly 7 centuries ago, Recsalbi Bortan Golteran. This was the last major expansion of the kingdom of Albion, and the first time the kingdom truly covered all of the Island of Albion. After the 14 year war, the victory was hard fought, with many nearly decade long sieges, but eventually, after a negotiation with representatives of the dwarven kingdoms of the Khavkhaz Mountains, and very delicate negotiations, Zhakhzad was brought in as a mostly independant kingdom within the broader sphere of albion, and the recsalbi title inherited the dwarven title of King of Kings, placing the recsalbi at a roughly equal footing to the coucil of twelve great kings under the King of all Stone, one of the very very few titles that the Recsalbi is, while not a vassal of, at least a whole rank inferior to.

Purpose

To mark the, not surrender, but acceptance of an overlord, of the independant kingdom of the dwarven peoples on the island of Abad.

Document Structure

Clauses

The actual missive sent to the court was dense and thick, but the ceremonial version signed by the dwarves and then Bortan Golteran contained a condensed summary with the main points.

Caveats

The agreement was, more or less eternal, assuming that the relativly independant status of the dwarven people was continued. The entire agreement was essentially that the dwarves pay taxes to the king, provide soliders in war, and stop raiding the elves, and as far as the recsalbi was concerned 2/3 wasnt bad.

References

The far more detailed agreement is referenced for specifics when the brief version is too detailed. For example the border is defined by watershed, a common system in albion, but the dwarves use mountain ranges, and as the border does not follow the end of a mountain range, the entire border is detailed in terms of step lengths and turns relative to the visible mountains, a compromise accepted by both parties.

Publication Status

The ceremonial version is on display in the The Brilliance of Recsalbi.

Legal status

Yes, and in fact it is one of the most stable vassalage agreement due to the dwarven love of solid, delibirated discussion and general lack of interest in the rest of the kingdom.
