Lanwan Archipelago
The Lanwan Archipelago is a crescent-shaped series of islands in the southern hemisphere of Ailar. It was formed when the subcontinent of Lan sank and flooded during The Devastation, creating the area now known as the Sea of Lan. The major islands in the archipelago are Lanwa, Eskerwa, and Nemland, and Jarsaad. The entire Archipelago is surrounded by a natural phenomenon known as the Winds of Marros.

Geography
The Lanwan Archipelago is located in Ailar's Southern Ocean. It is composed of three major islands (Lanwa, Eskerwa, and Nemland) and several minor islands connected by a single continental shelf. The body of water covering most of that continental shelf is known as the Sea of Lan. The nearby island of Jarsaad is geologically distinct in that it sits on a separate tectonic plate, but is generally grouped in with the rest of the archipelago.
The Lanwan Archipelago is in Ailar's southern subtropical to temperate zone. Due to ongoing fluctuations in local wind and weather patterns caused by The Devastation, the climate varies significantly between the islands. The Winds of Marros make transit into and out of the Archipelago risky, but within the Sea of Lan weather is generally calm and suitable for travel.
