Eye Tyrant

The Eye Tyrants are a strange subgroup of the Ones Below. Individually, they are quite powerful, as they have both strong physical forms and impressive innate magical abilities. They are also, from the perspective of the average inhabitant of Ailar, entirely alien. Unlike the other Ones Below, who are consistently malicious, the actions of the Eye Tyrants are almost incomprehensible. They are often solitary to the point of attacking each other on sight - except when they gather in massive hive-towers. They seem to have a universal hatred for other living creatures - except that they occasionally keep individuals or even entire settlements as cherished pets. They appear utterly confident in their ability to destroy any threat - but are often irrationally fearful of common occurrences such as rain, music, or certain types of rodents. Even the Sarathi Empire was unable to understand what drives these creatures.
