Tertiary Races
The Tertiary Races is a slightly demeaning term for those that have neither enjoyed a period of great success, nor are notably on the rise. Its use outside of ethnographic academia is rare and somewhat insulting.
- Lizardfolk were created to serve the Dragonborn, but now seek their own path.
- Gnolls are a race corrupted by demonic rage, always struggling against an insatiable hunger.
- Centaurs have never formed a powerful state, valuing their freedom above power.
- Featherfolk were created as messengers of the Titans during the Colossus War.
- Loxodon have long been the power behind the thrones of the Tabaxi and the Minotaur.
- Kobolds were created in error and given a simple task, which they have pursued doggedly ever since.
- Smoothfolk were bequeathed resource-poor lands, and struggle to make something of them.
- Giant-Kin are the various diminished offshoots of the Giant race.
- Aasimar and Tieflings are individuals or bloodlines touched by the infernal or the divine.
- Mixed Lineages are those who mix the heritage of more than one race. They are more common than many people would like to admit.
- Harpies are the descendents of Elves cursed by a jealous god.
- Forgeborn are the products of mortal tinkering with Titanic science, sentient constructs who struggle against the narrow purposes of their creation.
