Aasimar
Aasimar are members of any mortal lineage, imbued with divine energy and thus capable of transforming into a celestial aspect. They are created by the actions of a god, always with intent, but unlike pure celestials, they possess free will. They are a planar legacy, and technically a Demirace, as the celestial inheritance is rarely inherited by their children.
Each aasimar is created with a purpose, and granted a moronym - a name of destiny - but that purpose is never specific, and unless they seek out the identity and guidance of their 'investor' may remain a mystery to the aasimar for their entire life. The only hint is the celestial hue of their investment, which manifests in their transformed aspect. Blue aasimar have a higher calling, spiritual in nature, while black aasimar are created to take a direct hand in mortal affairs. An aasimar can live their life without seeking their purpose with ill-effect, but those who knowingly reject their calling may change their hue to red, debasing their gifts for selfish or corrupt ends.
