Ophen Family
Holding one seat on the Council of Alvanen, the Ophen family is known for holding to the old ways of the Elves. Before the confederation of the Elven lands into the council, the Ophens were representatives of many of the smaller villages and towns in the Sylva Forest. While they have moved into Alvanen, they still maintain a conservative stance, and champion deities otherwise lost to time.
Structure
Currently the head of the family and the current councilor is Arothi Ophen.
The selection of the Ophen councilor is strictly Agnatic Primogeniture, with the eldest son inheriting the title. However, the lack of a male heir and the marriage of Aronon Calluros to Sa'esah Ophen means that there is a possible succession crisis in the future.
Public Agenda
The Ophens still champion themselves as the "people's representatives", and have been a strong voice against the rise of technology, and to a lesser extent, cities. However, in recent years, they've become an anti-imperial voice, believing the Elves were better off before the Nicaean Empire arrived.
Assets
Their traditional nature means the Ophens have their hands in farming, hunting, bow-making, and nature-based magic. While not the most profitable industries, they do employ more people than any of the other families, helping expand their reach.
