Margaret "Magpie" Rookfeather-Lammergeyer Character in Aeternia | World Anvil

Margaret "Magpie" Rookfeather-Lammergeyer

Her name was inscribed on a sarcophagus in Vicra Lammergeyer's Lair.   According to Annu Adabra, the government's official documentation claims that she died 231 years ago, but he doesn't seem to believe it — his own opinion is that Vicra did some sort of "illegal research" to try and save her. Indeed, an adventuring party met her deep within the lair, not quite alive but not quite dead.   During combat, she exposed the party to one of her painful memories, as a form of attack:
You know it's technically not true, but as you heave desperately for any breath, it feels as though your chest is full of sharp, rattling gravel instead of air. This is it; the long struggle for survival is finally going to be ripped from you.   Your fear, your agony, the crippling fatigue, are all slightly relieved, briefly, through a familiar warm palm, coming to rest on your lower breastbone. A voice, which you associate with pleasant things: "If I could give my breath to you, I would".   A cold, hissing, otherworldly, deep echoing voice from behind: "Oh, would you?"

Physical Description

Special abilities

During the first encounter with Margaret, she had the following abilities:
  • Legendary actions: one could force one individual to move immediately, another gave Haste to an ally, and a third caused it to target an ally and split the damage that the ally would take.
  • "Suffering Echoes", a spell that would forcefully push her memories onto one individual. If that individual lacks the mental fortitude to withstand it, they experience the full force of the memory, and fragments of it memory splatter over others nearby.
Later, she transformed into a bird and could cast Finger of Death; she was eliminated before doing anything else.
