Captain Orcanus

Captain Orcanus is a hardened sea captain with a soft inner shell. He runs a tight ship, but he prefers to use his terrifying persona to prevent actual conflict. Law has little place on the high seas, but it does on the mainland. He is used to laying down the law on his ships based on moral code, and has little tolerance for disrespect and villainy. Other than that, he is non-judgemental on many other things, and as long as people's plans don't endanger him, his crew, or his boat, he usually stays out of it.
While the rest of his crew want a break from the stresses of the high seas, the Captain can never just stay still and chill. So he and Grem took a favor to transport some passengers and supplies to Dew Mill using a newfangled steamship. Not used to a small crew and ship, he occasionally leaves his post, expecting someone else to pick up where he left off, but otherwise, he is a strong leader and competent captain.

Whom He Knows

• Lance Veilman and Victor Thomson are guards transporting a prisoner to Dew Mill. Captain Orcanus is fulfilling a favor to be the transportation there. The captain has, on a few occasions, warned Victor to keep his cruelty to himself.
• Grem is a long-standing member of Captain Orcanus's crew, often acting as Bosun on the larger ship.
• Captain Orcanus knows that other people find the party hazardous, though he doesn't seem to know why.
