Victor Thomson

Victor Thomson was an inquisitor working for The Albatross in Ashport. He was an expert in "information getting, and information giving".

Final Assignment

His final assignment was to work with Lance Veilman to transport a prisoner, Kiirni, aboard The Channelhopper to Dew Mill.
It became abundantly clear that Vic was less than enthusiastic about keeping his prisoner safe. Before even the second day of the trip, Vic had apparently discovered something and was planning to "deal with it", but Lance interrupted whatever that was, and their confrontation had started to get physical before the party (minus Dwardazik) rushed in to see what was happening.
A few days on, Vic caught Lance "slacking off" during his shift of guard duty. Lance countered by insinuating that Vic wasn't even taking care of the prisoners most basic needs, which meant that Lance had to pick up the slack. Vic mentioned something that seemed to quiet Lance down, but Marvin convinced Lance to escalate the discussion into a brawl, aided by some enchantment magic so that Victor would never know that Marvin was responsible. Captain Orcanus broke up the brawl, claiming that he had already warned Vic about this kind of behavior, and he was left alone with Vic for a while.

Death

The next evening, Vic called all the passengers and crew into the bunk room for an urgent announcement, claiming that he knew of a "security risk", an individual who was "threatening the safety of this trip". He paused to give that individual the opportunity to come forth on their own. When they did not, he moved to torture the prisoner in front of everybody, but she evaded, slamming into a barrel and releasing a substance called Fervor that, among other things, caused everyone in attendence to forget what happened next.
After everyone had gained consciousness, they found that Vic had been murdered, his throat sliced open.
