Corinna Horatius

Lady Corinna Iliakos

She decends from the darkened sky on wings of black. Ghost-white hair flutters against the wind, shimmering white like the moon behind her. Eyes, silvery blue, focused, yet betraying a hint of doubt and sadness. Or so go some poetic descriptions of the goddess Luna.   One in many thousands of Solari births, a child is born with features resembling that of Luna. White hair, black wings, and silvery blue eyes. Considered Cursed Children, touched by the Luna's lunacy, and destinited to betray their homeland and faith, these babes are often killed in the crib. Very few of those survive into adulthood.   And for Corinna to do so into her teenage years is a testament for the tenacity of her House.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Corinna had a difficult childhood as far as nobles of her position would have. Her survival inspite of tradition had brought negative attention upon the house. Most, if not all of her peers and elders avoided interacting with her at best. Due to her isolation, Corinna reacted with aggression towards things that threaten her. Her elder brother, Romeo, was one of the few figures in her life whom she had a normal relationship with.   One day, shortly before her 12th birthday, Romeo and her were on a riding trip, when she raced ahead. Romeo, too eager to keep up, did not notice a nearby ravine and fell to his death. Corinna was devastated by his passing, more so when her curse was blamed for the misfortune.   The following year, when her father adopted Cato as a replacement heir to Romeo, Corinna felt betrayed by her father, and threatened by Cato, whom she views as inferior to her. With her mental state deteriorating, Corinna struggles to maintain her mind and sanity.

Education

Corinna shared the same classical education that many noble children were afforded, though she was never keen on attending her classes regularly, with the exception of weapon training and military history, which she was obsessed with improving at.

History

Before Cato was adopted as an heir by Ulysses, Corinna was indiffierent to him, and in fact, had no inkling that he was her father's bastard. After the adoption, Corinna came to see Cato as an insufficient replacement to her dead older brother. She hated Cato. She hated that her father choose a bastard slave to replace her brother. She hated that her father did not consider her good enough to be a daughter to him. And she hated Cato for being spineless and unfit compared to herself, and for simply for being in the circumstance that he was in.   However, Cato's persistence of extending an olive branch, along with the kindness and bravery shown by his friends have mellowed her attitude towards her brother a bit.
