Cibil Character in Aeon | World Anvil

Cibil

Cibil is the navigator of the River of Time along which all flows.

Perhaps the most esoteric of the Artisans, they are the God or Goddess of knowledge, invention, history and illuminating light.

Both traditional male and female representations of Cibil have been used over the centuries, but likely the most accurate are delicate and subtle forms that allow the faithful a personal understanding of their nature.

There is an ancient myth that suggests Cibil is or was romantically involved with Regolith, if such a concept is even possible for Gods. If, for the sake of conversation, this was indeed possible, then it may make the legend of The Primus a tad more interesting than a mere cloud of historical vapoour. Ask me later if you wish to pull a little harder on that particular thread.

The ancient Elves appear to have a close affinity to Cibil, with knowledge and craft abilities seemingly unrivalled by any others on Aeon. Their cities of marvel on the Chronocian Plateau surrounded the Pylon of Time, Cibil's domain, and were lost as a consequence of the Great Flare  .

Cibil, too, is believed by their followers to have paid an extreme price. Before the Flare it is believed they granted Leigha the power to communicate with the disparate races of Aeon through Seers and Priests, by way of prophetic visions warning of the Overseer’s intention. As a result, Cibil and their domain were singled out for retribution.

I will neither confirm nor deny those beliefs!
