Aempyre Geographic Location in Aeon | World Anvil

Aempyre

Ah, the enigma that is the single moon of Aeon.

Or simply a rock circling this lackluster planet.

Whatever your view, it does exert a disproportionate influence on it's larger patron;

  • the tides of the major bodies of water ebb and flow with the moon's transit
  • the tides of magical power are similarly affected as the Streams lacing the world brighten and dim according to the moon's position
  • natural cycles of fertility may be attuned to the regular waxing and waning rythmes observed in a lunar month of 25 days
  • beings of a more... fluid physical nature may feel compelled to alter their shape as a result of specific lunar events, such as a full moon.
Our celestial companion has an unusually diverse array of names; from nations to individuals according to their experiences with and superstitions involving the celestial body:

  • Aempyre,
  • The Sleeper’s Eye,
  • The Guide,
  • Tidebearer,
  • Bale,
  • Pryzm,
  • The Herald,
  • Harbinger.

Through a complete month the orb subtly shifts in swirling patterns and transitions through the visible light spectrum.

Ah, I see I lost you there.

Let me rephrase; the moon changes colour slowly every 25 days, in the same sequence as the colours in a rainbow.

Aha, I see that was more successful, I am... thrilled.

I feel I should draw a veil there, in fear of overtaxing you.

Oh, before you leave, one final thought; I have heard it suggested in academic circles that the Artisan Gods may have been exiled there as a result of the Flare.

Beware, something may be watching you!
