War of the Lion
A civil war in the Kingdom of Andor, it split the ConDoin royal family and ended with King Garrick II's ascension to the throne.
History
Following the Companions discovery of Duke Jarec Margrove's plot to kidnap Prince Patrick ConDoin, Prince Garrick split from his family and took residence in Gedone. Though efforts were made (most notably by Ser Mathias Ares) to cool rising tensions, conflict initially broke out in the town of Montaillou between ConDoin (who supported Crown Prince Leon) and Margrove (who supported Prince Garrick) forces. As fears escalated, there were calls for intervention and diplomacy, especially directed towards the Companions, who had become legendary warriors following their victory at the Fall of Ironpass. But the adventurers had already gone their separate ways--Kin'Saan Watari had returned to Haranoto deal with political upheaval in his clan, while Rafe Windsongremained in Kesh, investigating the aftermath of the Returning. Only Ser Mathias Ares remained, attempting to play referee from his castle at Harlequin. Upon King Edgar I's assassination (it was suspected that Margrove agents had enlisted shinobi from the Kodasha Clan, though this was never confirmed), the Kingdom fell into chaos. The Armies of East and West met each other in battle across the realm, which culminated in the killing of Crown Prince Leon at his own brother's hand. The following year, Garrick ascended the royal throne and--under his father's watchful eye--moved his seat of power from Andor to Gedone.
