Estea

The Jewel of Istoria

About Estea

The city of Estea was built by the Dragonborn in the time before the Lullaby War. Though the majority of the city's original structures appear to be made of stained glass, the Dragonborn used techniques to toughen the glass to a point where it became suitable for use in architecture - techniques that have since been lost. Estea was damaged in the Lullaby War, but not destroyed, and when the war was over many war refugees came to Estea to rebuild the damaged sections and create a new home. It stands now as the Jewel of Istoria and the shining heart of the Eternal Empire.   Viewed from above, the inner city resembles a large gemstone with many facets. It can only be properly navigated - or even reached at all - through use of a boat, as where one might expect a city to have streets, Estea’s inner city instead has canals. There are many bridges within the city - some built of the original glass, others having been rebuilt after being destroyed in the war or in the time since then - but there are no bridges spanning the ‘main’ canals of the city and it’s far more practical to use a boat. On the other hand, all members of the Estean City Guard wear enchanted rings while on duty, allowing them to travel directly across the surface of the water.   Estea is comprised of an Outer City and Inner City, connected by Gates. The Inner City is split into ten districts.

Geography
