Glass Towers

Visible from any point in the city, the Glass Towers are the crowning glory of Estea. When sunlight shines through the towers, Estea - or the Dusklight and Dawnlight bays - are bathed in a myriad of shifting colours. There are seven towers, each a different colour; at the center stands the Garnet Tower, surrounded by the Topaz, Amber, Emerald, Aquamarine, Sapphire, and Amethyst Towers. An eighth tower constructed of pink glass stands between the Topaz and Amethyst Towers. Its original name has been lost to history; it has been known almost since the city's founding as the Sundered Tower, as it was shattered during the war to such a degree that it could not be repaired. Concerns regarding the structural integrity of the remaining tower prevents it from seeing any use. Most of the glass used in the construction of the Shard comes from the Sundered Tower. Neither the Glass Towers nor the surrounding canals are accessible to the general public, as they are home to the Royal Ista Family and their guards - an elite order known as the Prismatic Guard - as well as visiting dignitaries and ambassadors. The Glass Towers are also where the Istorian Council meets to discuss matters concerning the Empire. Only one dock exists at canal-level and it is heavily guarded. Bridges connect the Towers to the Sky Garden, as well as the walled-off portion of the outer city known as the Glass Garden.
