Sikíronian calendar

The sikíronian calendar is based on the old paþarían one, with each month being named in honour of a deity and each day of the week named after an animal. Each month has a major festival and a number of smaller celebrations, usually religious in nature or connected to agriculture. New year begins at spring equinox.

Months and customs

* Fannasían: Cows are lead around temples of Fanasíus and their movements observed as an omen for the year's harvest.
* Basían: Athletic contests of various sorts are held throughout the empire.
* Zerakían: Purification rituals for men are performed, as are coming-of-age ceremonies for boys.
* Serrían: Purification rituals for women are performed, as are coming-of-age ceremonies for girls.
* Larrasían: Religious plays in honour of the god Alarus are performed and wrestling competitions are held, some people fast throughout the month and celebrate at the end by sacrificing and eating horses at a feast.
