Dirtans

The dirtans1 are a human tribe inhabiting the area around the upper Úló River in eastern Gráhúlysía. They are related to the Tíderks along the lower river.

Society

Dirtans are divided into two distinctive groups; those to the south are subjects of the kingdom of Keþía and live mostly around the village of Darsa, while those to the north are allies of Keþía but retain their independence. Both subsist mostly on fishing, hunting and foraging in addition to shepherding among the southern dirtans.
The northern dirtans are an important source of amber for Keþía, bought from the tíderks and traded with the Keþíans in exchange for woolen cloth, grain and metals.
