Dertúlans
The dertúlans1 are a tribe of humans inhabiting the woods and tundra in northwestern Gráhúlysía, southeast of the Darka Mountains. Their territory borders those of the Red-Gords to the southeast and Þúls to the east, the latter which they are related to.
Bog iron and cloth are sometimes acquired from the red-gords in exchange for intricately carved trinkets and reindeer hides.
Society
Dertúlans are semi-nomadic, living in tents on the tundra's edge when the reindeer herds migrate south during winter and move to longhouses deeper in the woods in the summer. The reindeer provide them with most what they need, such as meat and organs, hides and sinews for clothing, and bones and antlers for various tools and weapons.Bog iron and cloth are sometimes acquired from the red-gords in exchange for intricately carved trinkets and reindeer hides.
Religion
Tonei, the divine merlin, is the patron deity of the dertúlans. Shamans perform elaborate rituals to commune with Tonei, using a reindeer horn adorned with bells and colourful ribbons.1Original icelandic: Dertúlar, singular: Dertúli
