Mk-LMG2/1
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The carry handle and iron sights of the previous model were swapped out for a state of the art merging of the two, an integrated top mounted 2x magnification scope carry handle. This allowed for much greater effective range and positive Identification capabilities. As for the canvas housed belt, the capacity was upped from 120 rounds to an even more tenacious 200. Notably, while the bore diameter shrunk from 8mm to 7.5mm, the outside barrel diameter remained the same, allowing for greater heat absorption and therefore a much longer sustained fire capability without the barrel beginning to warp and bend. Lastly, a muzzle brake was implemented to replace the current flash hider, further helping to reduce felt recoil and muzzle climb.
History
The Nydonian military wanted a lighter squad level support machine gun that could carry more rounds as well as with a farther effective range. Tryebuchyet Zevsgiin Dizain answered the call and modified their currently in service LMG2 to fire the newer and smaller 7.5mm rounds, both allowed for less weight and a greater magazine capacity.
