Church of the Pantheon
Structure of the Pantheon
The Pantheon is composed of 12 gods. They’re an unlikely alliance of gods both good and evil held together by common rules, compromise, and representation. Each greater god (Ziella, Somdall, and Tyranus) has three lesser Gods in their alliance. They are known as the Light Bearers of Ziella, the Branches of Somdall, and the Wardens of Tyranus. The Pantheon shares a common Holy Symbol (which has its advantages), signifying that all gods are included in their ranks. Each god also has their own holy symbol, detailed below.
Divine Rule
The Pantheon acts like a parliament of the gods. Both good, evil, and neutral gods sit together at the top of Mt. Celestia, also known as Heaven. It has pretensions of ruling over other gods, but in truth, independent gods vastly outnumber the Pantheon. Such gods are mostly left undefined in Legacy of Alabaster, as they lay outside of the scope of the campaign.
Origin of the World
According to the Pantheon’s holy text, the Warding of Creation, or the Warding for short, they are a necessary alliance that safeguards the deceased Creator God Gideon‘s legacy, forbids infighting, and frowns on instability between gods.
They are the last remnant of an ancient peace treaty between divine powers and maintain the veil cast by the gods at the Dawn of Time, which separates the mortal realm from the divine one. They also uphold the Mandate of Heaven, a divine
law that prohibits any god from physically manifesting or directly intervening in mortal matters.
Clerical Freedom
Clerics of nearly all domains exist for deities, as long as they don’t contradict the god’s message. You are not locked to the domains presented here for the gods. You can thus pick any domain for any of the gods, as long as it’s not antithetical to the god’s essential nature, such as picking an evil domain for a good god.
Blessings of Faith
Each god has one or two Unique Favored Weapons that bears their name. Unique Favored Weapons are limited in their use to Clerics and Paladins by default, bestowing proficiency in that weapon for them. PCs of other classes can access these weapons by showing great devotion, up to the DM what qualifies. All unique favored weapons cost the same amount of gold as the base weapon they make reference to, but are strictly better than their counterparts. Unique favored weapons cease to function in the hands of those who are noteworthy to wield them.
