Stoykiy Markov
Senior Paladin (a.k.a. The Wandering Ember)
Paladin Markov is currently the senior Paladin of Silvana, subserviant only to Avelana Roseheart. His duties keep him far away from Branos, as the Treaty of Arlen prohibits Avelana Roseheart from leaving Branos for long stretches of time.

Personal history
Stoykiy was born into the aristocracy of Legarveth. As it was custom he was tutored privatly by the sharpest minds and trained by the staryy rytsar, the order of the first knights of Lagerveth. His life changed when his father became the emmisary to Branos, where, by law, he was forced to take part in the normal classes for the nobles of Emeresia. In the beginning he was ostracised, but as a strange Tiefling he recognized from a trial appeared, he quickly became friends with him, recognizing his strength.
Eventually he was invited by Shameros to Arlen, where he was to meet Lord Brightspire. His parents demanded that they join him in the hope that they would meet Avelana Roseheart, but she was unable to join. As they came to the mountains many miles north of Arlen they were shocked to find a destroyed vilalge. It had been the subject of a goblin raid. As they searched the ruins they found only one survivor, a young girl called Gwynn Binion. Stoykiy's gave him the command of the guard and, filled with rightious fury, he led them to whipe out the goblin infestation in the mountains.
As he and Shameros arrived in Arlen they soon met Avelana Roseheart who chewed both of them, and his parents, out for their rash actions. Only years later would he truly understand what he had done.
He was infacuated by the young girl he had saved and, despite their misgivings, he refused to leave her back in arlen. With the help of Silvana he was able to convince them to take her in, but since they refused to let a commoner corrupt their boy, they decided to adopt her.
Later he would formally join the templars with Shameros and, after distinguishing himself there would join the Paladins of Silvana. There, his first mission would also remain his most difficult. In the western mountains the kobolds have into truly enormous holdings and had destroyed many a gnomish settlement. He soon learned, after himself having destroyed many an encampment, that the kobolds and goblins used to live in a perverted equilibrium. They where both warmongers, but kept eachother in check. Now that he himself had wiped out the goblins the kobolds were running rampant and, with their incredibly low gestation period, had overpopulated their mountains and were seeking new lands.
After much deliberation he did the one thing he could think of. He traveled to the blackkrag, an ancient stronghold of hobgoblins, and was able to reintroduce the goblins to the western mountains, though the scores of kobolds he was forced to kill haunt him to this day.
