Order of Spring Blossoms

"If the Redeemers delivers the vengance of Sol, then the Blossoms represents his compassion.
— High Priest Erimond.
The Order of Spring Blossoms are one of the major monastic knightly orders dedicated to the worship of Sol. Unlike most other knightly orders the Blossoms do not condone the use of violence. Their members are forbidden from touching weapons, or engaging in combat of any kind.

Mythology & Lore

The order of the Spring Blossom recognize that Sol is a god of vengance and war. However, they also insist that he is one of justice and mercy as well. To them the great beauty of the world testifies to the love Sol has for his creation. They believe that the strong have a duty to protect the weak, and to preserve the domain Sol has granted to humanity.

Divine Origins

The Order of Spring Blossoms was founded during the 7th century, duing the civil war in Myzia. They insisted on taking no part in combat, and on helping the combatants of all sides.    There were many minor knightly and monastic orders dedicated to Sol which had similar ideals. However, few of these tended to hold to such rules for long. The Order of Spring Blossoms survived in the early days largely due to the patronage of the Archdukes of Lassale. The duke had remained neutral in the civil war, and helped negotiate its end. Due to his patronage the Blossoms were able to incorporate most of the minor "merciful" orders, and establish temples, monestaries and abbeys over most of Ryva. In the 9th century the Order was allowed to establish a major presence in Reddingfield and has since used their presence there to expand further into Ciello.

Priesthood

Priests and knights of the Blossoms do not carry arms. Much like other priests of Sol they wear masks which conceal their faces. The Blossoms wear green cloaks and carry oak wood staves.
